– In this video I’m gonna
show you how to schedule Instagram posts from a desktop computer no paid software required,
all right, lets get into it. (upbeat music) Hello busy people welcome
to Five Minute Social Media if you’ve been getting
frustrated, struggling with your social media trying to
figure out what you should be doing next you’re in a great place. Every week we put out a
quick video to help you with a different piece of your social media marketing strategy. If that sounds like something
you could use take a second hit subscribe click that bell (bell sound) that way you’ll be notified
each week when we release another helpful video. My name is Jerry Potter and
today I’m gonna show you how to schedule Instagram
posts from a desktop computer no paid software required. Two things to know before
we jump into the tutorial one you do have to have an
Instagram business profile or creator account for this to work it’s free to switch and you
can always switch back if you don’t like it and a video about
how to do that is available in the description of this video and two this works for Instagram
feed posts photos, videos carousels as well as IGTV videos it does not work for Instagram Stories. However if you do wanna
preschedule your Instagram Stories there is a third party
tool that does that. I’ve got a tutorial about how to do it the link is in the
description of this video. What we are using is
Facebook Creator Studio which has been put for a
while but they just recently added Instagram to it. So you go to Facebook.com/Creator
Studio and then up here at the top there’s a
toggle Facebook and Instagram. So we’re gonna click over
to Instagram and in here you have your entire content
library, so you see these tabs you can go back through it
will actually show under different categories
everything that you have posted including IGTV and your Stories and more. So if you wanted to schedule a
post you hit this Create Post button up here in the upper
left and then choose Instagram Feed or IGTV and this tutorial
is about scheduling posts not IGTV videos, so we’re
gonna go Instagram Feed pops up on the right caption
is the first thing that you see here at the top. I personally
prefer to add my imagery first so I’m gonna click add
content and then grab an image from my computer. As you’ll
see here you can upload a file or you can take something
straight from your Facebook page if you’ve already got the post there. Once I’ve got my image
I can put in my caption this means you can type your
caption with a full keyboard instead of on your smartphone which I love you can add a location
here if you wanted to so I’m in Seattle at
the moment so I can add Seattle, Washington. Couple
other cool things that you have you click these three dots here,
let’s say I don’t want this image this is where I can
delete it or I can also crop it if I didn’t want this dimension. So if you had bigger image
and you wanted to make sure it was square or a landscape or
even vertical, and I always try and do vertical, this four to
five ratio takes up the most screen space on Instagram,
then I could come in here and crop it. This picture is
already square so I’m gonna leave it and then you can also
post it to Facebook at the same time if again you
want the same information. So I just click that. Once I’m all set I come
down here to publish I can publish it immediately if I wanted which again it’s still
advantageous cause I got to do it on my computer without sending
the pictures on my phone I got to type my caption
with a full keyboard or as you were wanting to do when you found this video most likely is hit schedule, choose the date choose the time. (click) It’s scheduled. So as your post is being
scheduled, then it pops up your post has successfully been scheduled. You can also save it as
a draft that you wanted to just throw ideas in it
as you had them and then come back and get them later. Now to see your scheduled posts
here under the All Content tab you can see the one we just scheduled is sitting right here. You
can also come up here and use these different settings, so I can say just want to see scheduled posts that’s the only one that’s
scheduled and it shows it right there. If I didn’t want it anymore
I can click the checkbox I could choose to delete it
right here or again edit, publish now, view it, if
you wanted to see a preview of what it looked like. So grateful to have an easy
way to preschedule posts on Instagram. If you have any
questions about anything we talked about let me know
down on the comments otherwise give this video

This is awesome! Do you know if there's any branding on the post? If you use free Hootsuite it says "scheduled with Hootsuite" or something similar; was wondering if this does the same.

Thanks for the video, but does this have any advantages over scheduling through hootsuite?
