Did you think I was going to leave you without a tutorial? of that nothing hehe *^_^* Greetings to @taniita_m she asked for it on twitter! – we opened the Autodesk Maya and this scene is not mine LOL
How did I get this V-Ray and Maya scene? Well if you got here, you found a SURPRISE in the video and you seen my video completely currently in 2018, few people know of the existence of 5 free scenes, which have recently posted ChaosGroup on their official V-Ray website for Maya and for more programs such as 3DsMax and etc. these scenes are great to investigate how they have illuminated, textured and configured V-Ray in Maya ❤ I leave the download link in the description of the video where it says SURPRISE. Today I will use the Suspension Bridge scene, but before I start with a little theory but very fast about Render CPU & GPU with V-Ray the V-Ray package has 2 independent Render Engines, 1st V-Ray Adv and this only works with CPU and 2nd there is also the old V-Ray RT, (Real Time) but is now known as V-Ray IPR, (Interactive Render) IPR works by GPU and recently you can also use the CPU + GPU known as Hybrid Render that is, V-Ray IPR has 2 calculation methods, IPR with GPU and IPR GPU + CPU=HYBRID RENDER, (IPR with only CPU not works good) but they are 2 totally different and independent engines I’ll show you better from the V-Ray configuration it´s comes configured by default with V-Ray Adv=CPU
The V-Ray Adv only calculates with CPU ¿Ok? Do you can render by GPU? Yeah right!
in Production Engine>change it to OpenCL or CUDA if my Graphic Card is AMD, for example a Radeon, select OpenCL, but if you have an NVIDIA graphic card as it is in my case that I have a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB of MSI then I select>CUDA and it must automatically detect the graphics cards and the CPU in “Renders Devices Selection” now you can already render with IPR in GPU! but from version V-Ray +3.60 (I leave the video of the V-Ray 3.60 Review for Maya) from the +3.60 appeared in the IPR the Hybrid Render, being able to add to the calculation of the IPR engine the CPU + GPU. Tip: (You can use several Graphics Cards and without the need for the SLI bridge, V-Ray IPR use all Graphics Cards tha you selections) we are inside the V-Ray IPR, but if active c ++ / cpu along with my graphics card, I am using the Render Hybrid, do you understant it ? don´t expect a big improvement in the render times, yes it will help reduce them but of 5% to 10% + or – let’s do a render with V-Ray Adv CPU tip: currently I will always use V-Ray Adv rendering engine because I have a more powerful CPU than my graphic card In the end I will explain, How to choose the best rendering engine for each user? the 1st Render is by CPU in Progressive mode which is the algorithm most similar to the Render by GPU ▶▶
Rendering … with V-Ray Render Adv it can only with CPU finished! we save in Render History to see the render time and compare it later. 56 seconds! ❤ great! i love my i9 CPU hehe I’m going to specify the used rendering engine and the model of my CPU. V-Ray Adv CPU and i9-7940X 14 Cores… remember: that I do not use Buckets because the Progressive in the Image Sampler is very similar to the GPU render It has a setting in the Render Maximum of 10 minutes, but if your computer have a greater calculation power so, the render will end earlier than before of 10 mins, My computer only needed 56 seconds IPR is configured the same with 10 mins and has the same configuration as in the “Production Render” now let’s do a render only for GPU
in my case we said it would be CUDA because I have NVIDIA graphic card, so I choose CUDA I only select the only graphic card that I have in index 0 remember that it has a maximum of 10 minutes, but it will end much sooner hehe. I do the render! ▶▶
Rendering … with V-Ray Render IPR only with GPU finished, let’s see how long it has taken 01:49 minutes is fast! but not as much as with my i9 I edit it and write: V-Ray IPR only GPU
Graphics Card GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB well in 1 mins we will try to render with V-Ray IPR Hybrid GPU + CPU, but we can currently compare it is better to use VRay Adv CPU or VRay IPR GPU but the Hybrid Render can only be compared with the GPU render, to see if the VRay IPR has improved, ¿Ok? since the hybrid render is an improvement of the IPR render engine and not of V-Ray Adv well, I turn on the c ++/cpu and now I have activated the Hybrid Render inside the engine of IPR render of V-Ray … Will there be an improvement in render times? hehe ▶▶
Rendering … with V-Ray Render IPR using GPU + CPU=Hybrid finished !! not bad 01:24 mins but (I clarify that in the tests it has always taken me 1:18 mins for the hybrid render) … hehe well, I edit the hybrid render as seen in the video already if we can compare IPR GPU versus with the IPR GPU+CPU, and yes there is an improvement in rendering times with Hybrid render I know I am repeating myself a lot, but the users thinks that V-Ray is a single rendering engine. now I ask the following question:
Which rendering engine do I choose? the Adv or the IPR? It will depend on the power you have in your own peripherals or components of your computer … so in my case, I have a very powerful CPU the i9, so I use with the V-Ray Adv engine by CPU now my graphic card is good, not like the old one that was a cairn of shit hehe then comparing the renders I stay yes or yes, with the V-Ray Adv per CPU, with what will you stay, leave it in comments? because as you can see, the hybrid render has improved the rendering time of the GPU, but not the V-Ray Adv CPU It makes a little bottleneck and this tells me that my graphics card is slower than my microprocessor but imagine that you have a computer for gaming and you have an i3 or an i5 and you have 1 or 2 1080 ti graphics cards, you will logically choose the V-Ray IPR render per GPU and if you have a good i7 with the 1080 ti, you will stay with the IPR Hybrid Render, do you understand it ? write a comment if is a no hehe remember that your choice will depend on the components that has your computer Now I´m going to show you that there are 2 engines of renders, V-Ray Adv and the V-Ray IPR, although they do similar calculations but they are not the same let’s compare V-Ray Adv click in the A and the V-Ray IPR click in the B from V-ray Frame Buffer and let’s compare the renders do you check to the reflection of the buildings on the water, they have not been calculated same as they are different hehe you will also choose the rendering engine that you like, I like more the V-Ray Adv because the reflection gives a feeling of depth and distance, the GPU seems to be near pff sry I speak too much, it’s not interesting hehe the differences are clearly seen they have differences, but since the +3.60 version, the Adv and the IPR are being equated enough and are similars i thinking that for version 4.0 come very good improvements for the rendering by GPU or the IPR finished the tutorial about the V-Ray Adv by CPU and VRay IPR by CPU, by GPU and GPU + CPU uff that bigger madness and that tongue twisters haha TIP: I do not recommend the IPR render only per CPU, for that is the VRay Adv per CPU that is faster and more powerful. Leave me your comments on what computer you have and what is your best V-Ray Adv or IPR rendering engine ✎ okay, I leave you with the image of the tutorial and if you liked, give me a LIKE and don´t forget to SUBSCRIBE if you have not done it yet and if you know a person who is interested in this material, SHARE IT with that person, thanks well MayaTubers a strong hug and until the

HI,Carlos Alvarez Velazquez..I didn't expect to have a pre-tested movie of this rendering tutorial.. I didn't pay attention to it..Now that I’ve finished reading it, I’ve probably got a preliminary understanding.

At the beginning of the film's launch process, will you take the previously modeled content for the actual measurement of the rendering settings?
I don't know if you can easily demonstrate how to light now, plus the result of Vray rendering settings.

Looking forward to youcan introduce a Vray Next 4.0 detailed explanation of Vray's settings to improve the quality of the rendered image and the final output process as a tutorial, and finally get a complete high-quality rendering modeling image X1

The content of the modeling and lighting, plus the results of the Vray rendering settings

Mainly let everyone know how to design rendering settings to achieve high quality output on Maya-Vray's settings.

Outputting the finished image is also an important part, like the rendered image X1 of the final output of your modeled movie, that is the best result!Very cool one result!

Thank you, Carlos Alvarez Velazquez, You are very careful to launch each tutorial. It is a professional expert.
