So on my Helios 300 G3-571 (i7-7700hq) I set the both upper and lower limit to 56w as suggested by you in a previous comment I wrote. When benching I am only seeing ~33.1w max, and that's with offset voltages on CPU core and Cache at 0. When I go down to -120.1 offset I get even less like ~25w.

What did I do wrong and how to I get that pumped up to 56w? Thank you so much man! Love your content.

Pls HELP! I guess you're on predator discussion page too. Your videos are famous too. I'm having a problem with sound playback devices. I tried, soft reset, hard reset, reinstalling official audio drivers, getting it checked from technicians who r at service centres but nothing changed. My headphone and headset both doesn't show up in find playback devices. I need to cuz some programs like VoiceMod need headphones to be selected in playback devices. I tried on my friend's PC it shows up but not in my laptop Helios 300 (G3-572).

I have an i7-8750H Predator Helios 144hz, and I followed your optimization guide and throttlestop guide, but even after undervolting both the CPU core and cache to -150.2 mV my temps get really high to around 85-90c+ when gaming. Even with coolboost and with the max fan it gets really hot. Is there anything else I can do to reduce the temperature? I just got the thing 3 days ago knowing that it might have overheating issues, but most people said they resolved it with undervolting but that doesnt seem to work for me. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi guys! Whats the FB channel of this community? I have got some performance questions about helios 300 ph317-52 i7-8750H 16gb 512ssd 144Hz 1060 GTX… My laptop isnt working fully on 3,9-4,1ghz because of 45w power throttle and I cant get it off. I benchmarked 1120 in Cinebench R15 CPU test. Cheaper ASUS laptop with same CPU/memory did 1285 score and its all 6 cores we're fully synced in HWMonitor all bench time.

I haven't gone through thermal pasting yet, but temperatures aren't that bad at the moment.

I'm not happy that my laptop isnt performing the way it is promised to work on side of the laptops package. Should I just bring it back to shop?

Hi. Thank you very much, I will follow what you indicate and if this improved the fps in the games that when I put the TDP I improve. The doubts are, every time I want to play this way I must open the program, right? what risk can I have to set the TDP higher, I had 45w and then max 90w, the test I throw 59w, I put it in 58. But I still have the power trottling, but almost zero. Surely I'll have to put a few watts higher? I have the same CPU as you.

    Hey mate,

I have the helios with the i5-7300hq and 1060 getting some bottleneck. Unlucky me. In throttlestop, the max it uses tdp is 26W. And the max speed I achieved on all cores is 3095mhz, only if you make it run constantly on that speed. If not, games max somewhere 2.6. Why is it using only 26W and is there a chance to make the clock higher than 3.1 on all cores? Let me know. Thank you.

    i have a question

    plz help if you can

    i have an i7 7700HQ (Laptop)cpu with 1050ti GPU
    (Asus gl553ve)
    so

i tested my cpu on cinebench R15

    Resault was :

    single : 169

    Multi-core: i did 3 test –> 714 ,728 , 718

    now

i saw i7 7700HQ scores of Cinebench R15 and it was single :158 and multi :750

    do i have problem??

    my resault

single is 168 > scores of sites

    multi 728 <750 sites

    its difference is 20-30

    is it problem?

    does my cpu have Problem?

    SECOND question is:
when i was testing cinebench multi core my cpu core clock was jumping up and down permanently between 2.9-3.5 , i saw some cpus cinebench r15 test and i saw when testing cpu cores was LOCkED on Turbo Boost(with 4 core multipliers) clock but in my case its jumping
notice that about i7 7700HQ Turbo boost : my 1 core clock is 3.8Ghz and 4 core turbo clock is :3.4Ghz

so is it a problem?? or im wrong? plzzzzzzzz tell if you can

Do you know how power is distributed when considering overall TDP? For example, in Core Temp app I can see 20W for package, 15W IA Core, 5W uncore and around 1W between DRAM and integrated Graphics. Do I add all of these up to get a total TDP, or is the package power already the sum of all the measurable parts? If so, I've never seen more than 25W usage out of my i5-7300HQ Nitro 5. It is undervolted, which I know drops the total usage some. Still, it amazes me that in-game it will only draw around 20W with no detectable throttling. Is this right for a 45W TDP laptop chip?

Hey i just got an Alien17 R2 w/4980HQ and GTX980M. Repasted recently w/ NOCTUA NT-H1 which worked better than expected , dropped over 20 degrees on both CPU&GPU but running demanding games like GTAV is a bit weird , at first CPU runs smooth @ 3.9 then downclocks to non turbo 2.8 and finally starts throttling down to 800 at times and usually stays for about 10 seconds and goes back to stock 2.8. Checked with XTU and i get Power Limit as soon as i bench it. I undervolt it just a bit to -0.80 with XTU. Any chance i get get around that Power Limit? Btw temperatures are not an issue , GPU even OC'd does not go higher than 65 and CPU stays @ 68-75 in most demanding games. Thanx.

Hi, I got Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut applied by Acer representative, he spread a fine layer on CPU, GPU and the heat sinks(which was weird to me). I am using XTU with core offset value of -0.140V. I really don't see much difference. I play Warframe and after 20-30 minutes the temperature was so high, I got blue screen. When I booted back up I saw the temperature to be 98 degrees. Will ThrottleStop make any "significant" difference? Should I check my CPU if thermal paste was spread badly? Should heat sinks be pasted too?

Edit: I realised that XTU service wasn't running, I'll make sure it's running everytime I play. Let's see.

I tried your settings mate and even changed the values in misc also tried changing my fvr values and matched everything with yours but it's not going up above 35.0W(PKG)

    P.S:I7 8750H same as shown

    Hello.
    My throttlestop won't work.
It says that I'm missing or can't find 2 files?
I tried all the other versions but no one works.

Hey Thank you so much for the video. But my cpu speed isnt staying stable at 3.20GHz now when I'm playing a game. It's hovering around 2.60GHz. Is this normal? My base speed is 2.80GHz. I thought it should be running closer to the max speed… I’m so confused 😭😭

Wait my helios 300 (i7-7700HQ)'s PKG power is sitting at 26 W??? Is that normal?? Seems like it should be much higher. I put the cap at around 50 to begin with….

I don't know if TS is shit or what but it isn't working for me.
I've a 9300H which hits 3.7 across all cores in balanced mode and doesn't throttle but temperatures are always at 85-90 and package Power is at 63-64watt.
In performance mode it hits 4.0 across all cores but then it throttles and the temperature are North of 90s at 70 watt package Power.
My system is already good I guess so I thought a little undervolt would make things better. And I followed Opoka's previous video and undervolted -125 on CPU and -85 on iGPU.
Now my clocks are capped at 3.0ghz. Temperature is 65c and package Power is also 30 watts.
Man I don't want to lose performance. I'm hitting 867-870 points in Cinebench R15 without undervolt. If temperatures would go down even 5c then it'll be even better. Don't know that to do.
