OK, I’m going to reset the PRAM on my
Mac Book Pro to clear things up see if that helps
with some of the problems I’ve had since upgrading to Yosemite so we need to
press the Alt and Cmd P and R keys simultaneously while pressing
power key so it will require two hands so Cmd and Alt pressed together I’m going to use my thumb for that, R and P and press those down and power on there’s the first startup sound and when we hear the second sound, it is now reset we can now go ahead and release it
and it will boot normally thanks

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Was on the phone with Apple for 2 hours and 3 advisors. No luck until I saw your video with this simple easy fix. No one suggested PRAM reset. Unfortunately, the black screen occurred AFTER I installed the High Sierra Upgrade.
