Hello, so today the 17th of July 2017 IBM announces the new mainframe, the z14.
And a machine it is. One thing for to start with is that we called that machine pursuasive encryption machine. Every single byte of data the mainframe will enter will be encrypted whether it’s during take-in, whether it’s doing a transaction whether doing in storage it’d be encrypted and the good the good news is, that you don’t see any performance degradation in that’s but also that your existing applications can just stay
as they are. So that pursuasive encryption helps people especially in the hybrid cloud environment to feel secure that every transaction is being
100% encrypted. And talking about a hybrid computing
era we are in, you can also have rest API’s. encrypted as well into your traditional
z/OS applications, like CICS, IMS, DB2 or MQ. So it opens up a whole world for that environment And I mentioned z/OS as being a traditional mainframe operating system but also think that LINUX, for example, is already
for twenty years or so being embraced by IBM. and even LINUX environments will benefit
from the new processor and the new technology, up to 50% faster and Z in LINUX you mean also Docker containers, you mean also Go, you mean also Swift, you mean Node.js, all that kind of environments are also able to run on this very high secured and extremely performing system because for example it has 32 terabytes of internal memory making sure that every workload you throw at it, it can work with it. So check out the link and
enjoy the new z14.
