Hi, I’m Jon on behalf of Expert Village in
this video clip we’ll be gluing up our legs. First I’m going to clamp one of my oak boards
in place,
just to show you what this is going to look like we are going to put our plywood pieces
in next, and other oak side on top of it. If we take a look at the end of it you see
that now when we assemble it, it will have a 4X4 square post. First off we need to make
sure that we use plenty of glue cause this is going to be the support for our desk which
is going to have a lot of equipment on it. So I’m going to use a little more glue than
usual,
when I set my side pieces on, that glue should squeeze out the sides. We are going to come
back and glue the top portion and set our top piece on. Next we want to place a clamp
on it just to hold it securely and you want to make sure that this top edge is flush on
all of your pieces. I’m going to put in just a few pin nails to hold it so it doesn’t shift
on me.
Next I moved my piece down and added it another clamp and a few more pin nails. I’m going
to continue this and put about four clamps along each leg, you always want to take a
wet rag and clean up any excess glue that might of squeezed out. Once glued up you want
those legs to dry for about 24 hours.
