Hi! My name is Stephanie and I’m here on
behalf of expertvillage.com. Please visit our web site at www.clickincomputer.com. Now
will be a good time to install the power supply. It can only fit one way into the case, but
as you can see, this case already had a power supply in it, so we’re just going to go
ahead and start plugging the power into the motherboard. Next what we’re going to do
is install a 20-pin power connector into our motherboard. This particular power supply
has this 24-pin connection as we were talking about earlier, so what we do is just break
it off,
then we plug it into the motherboard. It can only fit one direction. If it doesn’t fit
one direction, turn at the other and it will snap down. The next thing that we’re going
to plug in is the 12-volt connection for the Pentium 4, all our motherboards have this
that your computer is not going to work without it. Next thing we’re going to plug in is
the power for the CD-ROM. Again, it’s a four-pin Molex connector and it only fits
one direction.
Next is the floppy power, another four-pin, but smaller and then the serial ATA power.
Serial ATA drive may have a plug for both the power that shaped like this and the power
that shape like this, you can only plug one in, otherwise it won’t work. Simply snap
it in and we’re done plugging in our devices.

My laptop computer's AC plug is gone, and my laptop hardware is much better then my desktop, I was wondering if it was at all possible to modify my laptop to take the desktop power supply. Would this be too much power and fry the motherboard? Or is this just a bunch on nonsense? The hard drive is also gone in my laptop, anyway to modify that, too?

    Thanks.

If I followed this I'd be left wondering "what about" for so many things, especially the led, fans, power switch, etc., etc..
