Nice video and specs of both Laptops. I'm very happy I went with the 13in Touch bar also I upgraded to the core i7 processor & Iris graphics 550 which left me with a 2,300$ 13in Mac Book, but one hell of a one and editing the video I do edit will be supe4 fast and easy.

Even though with that price I could have got the 15in Base Touch bar instead, I'm not a fan of how big it is & since I use my laptop on the go a lot I wasn't keen on lugging that 15in around. Also, like I said for what I need it for the 13in performs faster than the 15in unless I was editing and redering some large video which I won't be the 15in would have been the better choice. Shazam!

I went for the MBP without touchbar. I just fell in love with the keyboard and that was the deciding factor and that's the most important thing to me. The only thing that bothers me is the size of the trackpad, I thought I would love it, but it's just a little too big.

I'm a hardcore PC guy. but that 3rd point tie was a joke. Mac won that hands down.
4th point…. you just gave all the points to mac but just gave PC the win. like… come on. you didnt even show the same image to compare with at least.
That was a very unfair call bro.

PC people typically just don't understand how good Macs are they tend to get all bogged down on benchmarks and price. although I sold my early 2013 MacBook Air for $650CAD used it for 3 years and only paid $1199 in the first place. before that I was a windows user and was reserved to throwing out my laptops after about 2 years.

How can the Dell be the best 13 inch laptop when macOS is according to your video the superior operating system? Sounds contradictory to me.
Also your calling performance a tie due to same specs but you say it yourself mac software is specifically optimized for mac computers since software and hardware come from apple which results in way better performance than windows laptops with similar specs as the exporting tests shows (apart from the fact that the dell had the faster processor). That category might be on shaky ground
Regarding battery life I assume you have tested both under exact same circumstances? For example MBP has a brighter display which results in more power drain. macOS has great power management, really surprising that he lost that one.

Other than that a good quick comparison. The display of the Dell is really magnificent!

In the end it all depends on what the user is specifically doing, as you mentioned, e.g. one who owns an iPhone is way better off going with a MBP etc.

I have a Dell XPS 13 that I bought a little over a year ago and half the screen shut off for no reason. I have never dropped it and have taken extremely good care of it. After talking to Dell customer service it did not get resolved since my 1 year limited warranty was over and they would have charged me to even inquire about the issue with their warranty department. I thought it was extremely ridiculous. I just bought the new MacBook pro 13 inch and the experience is 100 times better. I have never been an apple fanboy or anything this is the first Mac that I have owned and I don't think I'll be going back any soon. The OS is just so much more polished than windows and the track pad is so much better. I am an engineering student in college and my Mac runs all the programs that I need better than my XPS ever did which could be because of an updated processer but I don't think one year makes that much of a difference in processing power as most of the updates to processors have to do with efficiency. Working on the MacBook pro is just so much better and every thing just works smoothly.

All agreed on except the "OS battle goes to the macbook pro". Windows OS has come a long way and the virus problem isn't as bad on the Windows 10 OS. Heck i didn't have much virus problems with Windows 7 either.
You didn't even go through the lack of software on mac, inability to install and play games and what not.

I would like to mention the keyboard layout, where windows' keyboards win over mac's. I find it uncomfortable to have FN on the bottom left and to do keyboard shortcuts with cmd+key. I don't even know what fingers to use – thumb on cmd and index on a key? With windows keyboards it's simple: CTRL on the bottom left, so you can't make mistake – pressed with little finger, then other key with index…

(I have an XPS 13 and MacBook Air at home and I did have a day to play with MacBook Pro)

The most important part of a laptop for me are its keyboard, trackpad, battery and OS. Most of the windows laptop doesn't last long, i mean they are fast at first, but in less than a year they become slow and outdated… they really got flimsy annoying keyboard and trackpads, and over time, they wear and tear faster…haven't had the MacBook 💻 though just yet…but I'm considering it over a windows laptop..although i must admit, it'll be hard to adjust from windows to macos

NEVER buy DELL computer if you don't want to waste your time and money. The CPU of DELL computer is possible to be locked to 800Mhz while it should be up to 3500Mhz. When you go to the DELL technical support, they would just waste you 2 months time to play email and then replace the old broken motherboard with another old broken motherboard and never fix the problem without bringing a new problem. that is my $3000+ lesson from DELL, i hope you can keep away from DELL and keep away from such tragedy.

Nice comparison. I traded my Razer Blade 14 for the new 15" MacBook Pro, because I prefer Mac OS. I really like the MacBook, but I'm still having a hard time recommending it to others, especially considering how good high end Windows laptops have become, and how ridiculous Apple's prices have become this generation. If you're not tied to Mac OS, the Dell XPS 13 and XPS 15 seem like a way better buy than their Apple counter parts, even though I personally don't really like their design.

Also: I really wish Apple would have gone for an actual touchscreen and not the gimmicky touch bar. It's nice within a few apps, but I still find myself poking the screen out of habit.

I have a MacBookPro and a Dell Precision. But I always reach for the Mac because of the trackpad – it's so well designed, so smooth, so well integrated. Until Windows laptops get the trackpad right, I'll keep reaching for my Mac. I am not an Apple fan – I plenty of complaints about Apple – their tight controls etc. I want a new Dell XPS or Asus ZenBook, but until they get the trackpad right, I'm gonna wait. MacOS doesn't even have a fully unified UI across all programs like Windows and iOS. It has a terrible file system, compatibility issues due to Apple's way of forcing you do do things 'their way', and the work flow just isn't there for video editing due to it not having the same window resizing capabilities as Windows.

The notion that Macs are less prone to viruses than Windows machines is false. There are more Windows machines than Macs, so naturally they'd catch more due to sheer numbers. However a simple firewall and application alerts do not change the fact.

    Mac is objectively worse.

here's the main distinction I've been able to make between Apple vs. Microsoft:

Doing creative work, or just using the computer for simple personal entertainment: Mac is king
    +Retina displays
    +Great render times
    +Intuitive controls related to entertainment
+Most software around content creation are geared for Macs to begin with

Doing anything work related, school related, business oriented and gaming: Dell is king
+Connecting to servers works every-time (Macs have issues with this, ask anyone trying to use a college mainframe to submit an assignment)
+Logic tree filing system keeps you organized
+Business software is mostly geared towards Windows
    +Gaming just explains itself

Personally, I see the PC being more of a toolbox than the mac, quite simply it's able to do more on top of being able to be upgradable without sitting at a genius bar for an hour. The Macs make up for this by being worlds ahead of PCs in their areas of expertise and just having a more fun design. Seriously, you can open your Mac with your watch, that will never not be cool.

Tbh, this comment section is absolutely trash. The whole comment section exists of dell lovers telling everyone dell is the best and mac lovers are telling everyone mac is the best. People, please don't. You really think that someone with a MacBook runs to the store to buy a dell bc of your shitty comment? Everyone has their own point of view and that's okay. If you want to use dell, go ahead and use dell. If you want to use mac, go ahead and do that. This guy just wanted to compare the two models for the people who are considering buying one, but the only people watching it, are the people who just want to defend the laptop they own. So please don't. Just go right now.

Lol, OS is the strongest point of xps. Windows 10 is a touch, pen compatible OS which is a big deal for me. Viruses haven't been a problem as long you're updating and using Adblock plus. I was so bored of OS X with my office computer. Just hated the file explorer and had a hard time transferring files to my hard disk. Also, the design language of OS X is so outdated, there isn't even an option for dark theme.

Buyers aware!!!!!! I have seen and tried both in really life and XPS 13 is not just hideously ugly(it's harder to tell in the video), but also has the worst keyboard I have ever tried! It looks as cheap as a $300 laptop. To me it really looks like a ugly piece of junk when put next to MacBook Pro in real life(sorry for saying this if you happened to own one).

I am not supporting apple but if you really want windows just do yourself a favor and get a surface laptop or zenbook, as those are just as well designed as MacBook Pro and they also have pretty good keyboards.

So don't buy it if you did not see one in real life or sellers don't offer return policy!

Davinci Resolve on Windows is nearly as fast as FCPX on Mac, and both are of course much faster than Premiere. So those kinds of speed gains can be had outside of whole banana optimization, it's just that Davinci and FCPX both have much newer engines than Premiere and Adobe doesn't seem to want to invest in speed gains.

Windows is great for game. If you want to do something productive I personally thing macOS is better.
I personally find software development to faster and more convenient on macOS.
It run bash (an old version but it's easy to update it to bash 5.0 [currently the latest version]) which is my favorite shell.
Of course you can install whichever shell you want even microsoft powershell if you're a masochist.
And my favorite IDE only runs on macOS (Xcode) I just like it. Microsoft visual studio is also great so that's probably just a matter of preference but I can run that on my mac while the opposite isn't easy or reliable. (Hackintoshes aren't stable)

I have learned one thing from Apple. They take things that were already good and throw it away. Like headphone jack? We don’t need her here are AirPods that look cool but mess with tour head. Who needs a USB port? Here is a lightning cable you will also need to buy like 6 of them and the computer already cost over 2000 so good luck. New iPhone has Face ID? Well we don’t need that finger print scanner anymore we found something better. Like Galaxy and dell make things that are good and keep it that way. Dells have more options and ports. Galaxy’s not only have Face ID but they kept EVERY OTHER WAY TO GET INTO YOUR PHONE AND THEY ALSO HAVE A HEADPHONE PORT! Like honestly I’m done with the Apple crap.

Objectivity for premium statement-piece laptops like these is useless. It's down to personal preference, neither one is perfect for everyone.
