Today we will make a hand warmer using that cpu Aiming to aim at something that generates heat as much as a hand warmer from Hakkin hand warmers and Zippo I will immediately remove the cpu from the motherboard To get a cpu you must first remove the cpu cooler I was able to get cpu Silicon grease is stuck to the heat spreader part of the cpu, so wipe it off with absolute ethanol I took out the cpu from the motherboard Combine the extracted cpu with the power bank Can be used in combination with this power bank There are a lot of pins on the back of the cpu. Can you see Solder to this pin Connect this wire to this USB and supply power from this power bank to heat up this cpu The power bank used is ANKER FUSION5000 Since the voltage of the power bank is 5V, first set the power supply voltage to 5V. Press the power supply set to 5V to the back of the cpu I will search for the electrode that cpu generates heat when it is pressed like this There are a few tips on how to search If it is in this state, it is in a state where it is shorted between plus and minus Almost no power is generated because it is short-circuited And in this state the power bank will break This is the mode that is connected to the pin but is open In this state, no current flows, so no power is generated. This is the last case CPU only generates heat in this state So I will solder on the back of the cpu so that it will be in this state By the way, although it is a connected terminal now, you can see which terminal is currently connected by searching the cpu data sheet cpu is XEON E1245 This cpu socket is lga1155, so check its datasheet It came out immediately like this You can see this pin layout at the bottom of the page The positive 5v terminal of the power supply is applied to the vcc vcc is a terminal for power supply 1.2V is supplied to this terminal if the CPU is operating normally Next, the ground terminal hits this RSVD RSVD stands for Reserved. It seems that it was not the terminal especially used Next, use a thermocouple to measure how much temperature the cpu hand warmer will rise during operation. Attach the thermocouple to the heat spreader and turn on the power in that state to measure the temperature Maximum temperature reached 4 minutes after turning on This is a graph of hand warmer time vs. temperature. Reach the maximum temperature of 74 degrees in 240 seconds This stands up pretty quickly compared to Hakukin Hand Warmers etc. This is a common type of hand warmer The maximum temperature is now 48 degrees Since we have confirmed that the desired performance can be obtained, we will make the hand warmer body The USB cable that connects the power bank and cpu uses the cheapest one I bought at the 100 yen shop There are 4 wires inside the USB cable, but the green and white signals are not used because they are signal wires. Cut I will peel off the electric wire and deposit the solder and I will solder it to the cpu body from now on With this size of soldering, using a magnifying glass makes it much easier Solder the red wire and the black negative wire to the cpu respectively I was able to attach a hand to the cpu, but when I pulled the soldered part strongly, the land on the back of the CPU came off. So I would like to solder using another cpu And what I thought of soldering is that the distance between the land and the land is so close that it is difficult to solder I want to solve this somehow Next cpu to use is core 2 quad q6700 Since the socket is different from the previous cpu, search again. Find the cpu pin in the same way as before Connect 5V to VTT And connect 0V here This is a problem that is difficult to solder because the distance between the lands is narrow. On the contrary, the land was removed by using the property that it can be taken by pulling the land strongly. As a result, soldering became very easy like this The land has been removed, making it very easy to solder Now that soldering is complete, we will connect to the power bank and test the operation. Terminal voltage is 5v and 1.1 amp current is supplied Power is the product of voltage and current So cpu generates heat for 5.4 watts The capacity of the power bank is 5000 mAh The flowing current is 1090 mAh The battery will have 4.6 hours in a simple calculation (there is a calculation error. Please check the details column.) If it is used as it is, soldering will be removed, so the solder surface will be covered. Degrease with ethanol in advance I will make a frame with masking tape to make a cover When the frame is completed, we will pour the resin into it Since the adhesive filled yesterday has hardened, I would like to remove the bar from now on I used an adhesive this time, but this is not the correct way to use the adhesive. For example, it is better to use resin-based fillers such as epoxy fillers or resins. Remove the frame after confirming that it has solidified There are countless bubbles in the hardened adhesive To avoid this, please be sure to use resin fillers Anyway, since it was completed, I would like to use it Measure voltage and current using a USB tester Voltage is 5v, current is 1.1A About 5.5 watts is consumed as power Although it is an impression that I tried using, it becomes quite warm It ’s not like everyday use, but it ’s useful when used outdoors when it ’s really cold.     使用可能時間の計算間違えてますね。
    5000mAh/1090mA=4.6hではなく
    5000mAh×3.7v/(1090mA×5v)=3.4hです。
    モバイルバッテリの容量は内蔵バッテリの容量なので電圧が5vではないので電力で計算しないと齟齬が出ます。
    さらに言えば、DC-DCの性能にもよりますが変換効率80%程度だと思うので目安程度にしかならないですねー。

    厳冬下での撮影時にカメラボディやスライダー(移動装置)の外部電源に良さそうですね。
    揉むタイプの懐炉だと体に密着させていないと温度低下してしまうので、単体で使えそうです👍️👍️
