This video shows how to copy photos from your
camera to your computer using the USB cable that came with the camera or using a memory
card. Digital cameras are typically shipped with
a USB cable that can be used to copy files from the camera to a computer. Most cameras has an access panel that covers
the camera’s micro connection port. With the camera turned off, slide the access
panel open and insert one end of the cable into the micro port. Then connect the other end of the cable to
a USB port on your computer. Turn the camera on and wait for Windows to
detect the camera. When Windows is ready, a message opens in
the corner of the screen showing the camera name. Click the message box. Then select Import
photos and videos. Your photos and videos display on the screen
and are ready to be imported. Photos taken with a digital camera are stored
on the camera’s memory card. If your computer has a memory card reader,
you can copy the contents of the memory card to your computer. The location of the memory card reader varies
depending on the type of computer you are using. A notebook memory card reader is typically
located on the side of the notebook. The card reader on a standard computer is
located on the front of the computer. The card reader on HP TouchSmart computers
and All-in-One computers is usually located on the side. If your computer does not have a built-in
card reader, you can use an external USB card reader that is compatible with your camera’s
memory card type. For this video, we will insert the memory
card into a notebook. Wait for Windows to detect the memory card. When Windows is ready, a message opens in
the corner of the screen showing the card reader name. Click the message box. Then select Import
photos and videos. Your photos display on the screen and are
ready to be imported. Now that the camera is connected to your computer,
or the memory card is inserted, you can import your photos. Click the files you want to import, or click
Select all. To import the files you selected, click Import.
The files display in the Pictures library. If you want to change the file numbers to
names, right-click the file box, and then click Rename. Type the name you want to use in the box provided,
and then click Rename. The new name displays in the Pictures library. If you want to name a group of files, right-click
each file and click New folder. Then type the folder name and click Create. The new information displays in the Pictures
library. To see a full view of the photos in the Pictures
library, click one of the boxes. Then click the right arrow to see the next
photo. Right-click on a photo to open the Pictures
library tools. From here, you can delete the photo, designate
how you want the file to open, set where you want the photo to display, and view a slide
show. You can also rotate or crop the file. To perform other edits, click Edit. Now, you
can auto fix the photo or perform basic fixes. You can also edit the lighting and colors,
and add special effects. You can also work with your imported photos
using the Photo app on the Start screen. To do this, click Photos. The Pictures library opens. From here, you
can view, organize, and edit your photos just as you did when you first imported them from
the camera. You can find additional helpful videos at

What if you have a device with approximately 2000+ photos on it and you just want to select lets say 1000. How would you do this through the Photos app because ive tried every multiple select method i know and nothing works. I dont feel it should be necessary to have to individually click on 1000/2000+ photos that you'd like to import

Easy…..I would love to see a video on how to upload 5 recent pics instead of windows scanning my whole camera to find the most recent 5.  Previous windows version only scanned the recent pics and not the entire phone or camera. To download 1 pic from my camera takes 10 minutes as all 5,100 pic must be scanned to find the 2 most recent.  Silly.

My Sony camera memory card seems smaller than the port on my HP Envy All-in-One computer. The port is under the monitor, which is not user friendly imo.

Sony Cyber Shot, Carl Zeiss 8.1.

I can't upload photos on my computer for some reason.

How do you do the opposite? I transferred photos from a camera by connecting it to a PC and simply dragging from the camera to the PC, but now I want to drag back from the PC to the camera but it wont allow me. I can't copy and paste either. How do I get those photos back to the camera?
