If you don't understand that the MAC is all about optimisation with software and hardware and you probably just need one rendering program so of course you will use Final Cut and it kills Premier. Same with other programs, just buy the best optimised and you will quickly realise that Macs are miles better. Of course the fickle youth who get bored easy and want the latest and greatest will swing to Windows due to the larger choice, but for an older generation like me who just wants it to work, be fast and reliable, that ship has sailed, Mac bets Windows easily. Of course you need to spend time learning the OS and these days many just don't want to make that effort so will stick with Windows. And of course there is the price, even I cannot afford a new Mac, but second hand they are closer to Windows prices, and mine is now in its sixth year so they are good value over time.

You said you are comparing it to similarly priced devices but the Razer Blade COSTS half as much as the MacBook "Pro", you should have used the Blade Pro instead.

This is the first video of yours I've seen so far. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the core video. it would be great if you benchmarked both the Blade 14 and Stealth with it. Seeing as how I'm just about the newest person to the channel, I have no idea if your viewers would like this, but I would enjoy a review of the Razer Blade Pro (1080). I can't pretend to know how costly a purchase that is for you to buy it, but as I said, I think it would make a good video. If nothing else, a later video once a new line of GPUs comes out to show the performace boost the Core+new GPU offers to the Blade Pro. Anyway, great video! You earned another sub!

WHAT ABOUT FINAL CUT PRO X ON MBP???? That is the main reason people buy MBPs mostly.. Not because of the raw power but because of the optimization thus speed though that. Anyone and everyone knows that Premier Pro has the upper hand when it is combined with Nvidia GPUs. Like wise AMD GPU on the MacBook is optimized for the optimal performance gains on FCPX. Thus this test is very unfair and ignorant.

Clearly the razor goes a long way to the comparison with the mac book. The problem is that windows 10 platforms just dont cut it on personal or enterprise security.Who on earth would want to buy a laptop which gets ransom ware, crashes regularly and send personal data to microsoft who then resells it ? Simply the mac is still safer to invest in at this price. Re run this with the up and comming AMD Zen laptops from razor.

Best editing does not equal Premiere CC. This video should have been called best Premiere Exporting laptop. I'm glad the Razer is great at exporting. How much fun is it going to be to do editing on a 14 inch 16:9 screen? Both the Mac and Surface Book have better screen ratios as examples.

You picked the WRONG Windows laptops for this comparison. Try with the Dell XPS15 9560 (2017 model) in top configuration (4K screen, 32GB, 1TB SSD.) It will eat the MacBook Pro for breakfast in virtually every department. Seriously, it's not even close… That's as close as the dream machine for video editing on the go as any computer has ever gotten.

I am one of those people you mentioned would never ever consider buying another PC as I have had issues with every single one that I have ever owned and worked with at work…I have had Macs since the Apple 2e…which I still have and still works…and 9 other macs that I still have and all still work since then…but I have been considering buying a Razer or an XPS 15 as a second machine to my 2015 15" fully spec'd MBP. For me it would mostly be just a toy because I love tech, but the fact that I want one says something to me.

Great Video. The latest model 2016 MacBook Pro has been my first MacBook. I don't do video edits, or anything fancy with it. I just like the brand to be honest.
Are previous Mac users mad because it has changed the way that Apple has changed the editing? Or what Is it? I have to say I love my MacBook. But I really don't do any of the things its truly designed to do. (video edits etc)

That's not the point! You get a Mac because of its stability and programs, such as Final Cut Pro. It's an unfair comparison to use Premiere Pro because it's not what people are going to be buying a Mac for. People buy the Mac because they like the stability and they want to be able to edit more fluidly and have faster export times. Using Premiere on a Machine KNOWING it will be slower and KNOWING that there is an equivalent to that program made specifically for that OS is showing that you put it in there to try and make it look bad. Final Cut is there for people who want the faster export times, Premiere is there for people who don't want to spend the money on a MacBook. Don't make the comparison unfair as it's simply not why people would buy that machine.

What kills me is the fact that you're literally saving…10 minutes. Of your life. Per 4 minute video. Yes its "OMG TWICE AS FAST" but the real time results of that are….10 minutes. I waste more time than that in the shower.

That's just not enough to get me excited to move from OSX to Windows. Even as a Premiere user.

JESUS CHRIST!. THIS COMPARISON WAS POINTLESS!.
Let me explain why, when a creative professional buys a MacBook Pro they are most likely already into the Apple ecosystem and they know that its better to use final cut pro than premiere because premiere is terribly optimized, over priced (In comparison to how cheap you can find final cut.) and very slow. On another point, premiere is uglier, harder to use (For a first time user.) So lets say you have the 2016 15 MBP maxed out, versus a windows 10 i7 6900k Titan XP 128gb of insane memory or some sh*t like that. If you use Final Cut, which is what the macbook was designed to use, you could easily edit 8k Red raw 120fps (I tested it with a friend of mines Camera, long story. And another friend, lucky coincidence I know, just happened to have a monster gaming and streaming PC, which he let me use for comparison and it just happened to have those exact specs.) Whilst on the PC, it struggles with 6k Red Raw 60fps, less than half of what the macbook can handle and the macbook barely kicks the fans. So, please make another video clarifying this @theunlockr because you are just confusing people on what the macbook can actually handle and what it was designed for.

I do miss the days of Apple using professional working artists as its baseline for their products – it made life very easy – you knew all you had to do was buy a Mac – and yeah it cost more but it was also the best for graphics, music, film – today the Macs are still the most expensive and possibly best built – but they are no longer the most competitive when it comes to features – it's a shame – but there it is – I don't have time to whine so I made my own kick ass pc for less than half the Mac Pro with 2 Viewsonic vp 2772 monitors and a beautiful sound system – it rocks. 2017 everyone's a blogger, photographer and musician – oh and drone pilot – so for me – speed is everything – getting my content up to clients faster and more efficiently is key – because of course NOW they want it as fast as they see it coming up on YouTube – even though it's a 4K (shot in raw) reel – I'm still out on the real world laptop specs – I'm a gamer – so if a gaming laptop at half the price is going to put the last nail in Apple's coffin – so be it – soz Apple – you snooze – you loose. cheers for the comparison. #peace #coffee

It really takes you 4 minutes to get to the actual test. And then, you don't even discuss the editing process on all machines, which I think is the most relevant. How are the workflows on the different devices? Is there lag when previewing? These are thinks I would like to know before buying one of the laptops, instead of a list of specs and rendering times.

This is not current, there is a SB2, the Razer Blade hasn't been updated in any way that counts, etc etc. Also, you have no idea what you're comparing here – it's 15W CPU's vs the Blade's game quad-core 45W CPU, so… it's not even a fair battle here. There are Windows-running machines (other than SB and Blade) that are more portable than the Blade or have a better battery or pack the same specs for less money. You should compare 15W CPUs to 15W CPUs and then go on and see if you can find equivalents of them. 'Tis how it's done, my sweet noobish boy.

No wonder My husband has been telling me to get a Gaming laptop for video editing. I had my eyes on the Macbook, Surface and samsung Notebook 9 laptops for a while but they are to pricey for what they offer. Most people in the business industry have them and complain aswell but what made me take steps back Is that these company's are focusing more on the design outside when they can do better with hardware for the price that they are currently chargeing us. Like, the accessories as the pens are sold separately. 😒 Now, Laptops that are ment for gameing I have noticed are really Good at FPS, plenty storage space and Graphics for less Money. Im looking more for fast Performance because I do alot of video editing and I cant stand how long exporting 4k, 1080, 30 fps and 60 fps footage can take. I also play video games such as Smite on my 2016 $260 Lenovo laptop wich is fine but I bought Lawbreakers recently and it looks like the Playsation 1 and the FPS are less than 22 I can't play at all. I don't mind haveing graphics reduced a little bit but we are in 2018. I have a online business to and often save alot of stuff on my Laptop and other stuff I download to a Flash drive. I been considering a $500 to $700 Laptop that also includes a 1080 HD display i least since it also affects how videos looks, definitely not the Surface nor the Macbook 😑 more pricier than actual Gaming PCs and dont have good enough graphics as they do. The most expensive laptop i ever had was $400 that is now messed up and old so now and Im ready to upgrade and pay more for a New one but I dont want it to heavy 😕 This is why Im haveing a hard time deciding. Im going to get a desktop more ahead but not now becaus What i really need now is something Portable since I carry my current one that is failing around alot and move around the house.🤔

4 min footage 4k = in 27 minuts and 4 minut 1080 p footage in 12 minuts shit!! I died thats to long even 1080p! I mean 4k takes alot power i know But for AlMOST $3,000?! Heck Noo! if it was 7 mins for a 4min footage that would be decent. This is one of many reasons I never try Mac, to expensive. Apple promotes Luxury.
And the Razer 4 minut 4K footage in only 11 minuts 👏 and 4 minut 1080p footage in 5 mins. This video is so eye opening yet so underrated. You deserve million views I been searching for this type of comparison video.
