    That was actually stressful to watch. :O I once had a data overflow attack on my PC because of a simple CPU overheating (my old machine didn't have thermal throttling) and I think the CPU must have run a format instruction. I managed to recover it after about a day.

    Moral of the story: never attempt to "reactively" back up your data. If your system (it doesn't matter if it's a game console, phone, server, pc) is unstable at the time you are trying to back up, your computer is much more likely to run a false format instruction or something that will cause the back-up attempt to do more harm than good. It's best policy to correct the root of the problem and then "proactively" back-up your data when your system is stabilized. In this case, Linus should have fixed the original power off problem with the server before attempting to back up the vault.

    I do have a 875 peta byte server and the same thing happen tha one of the raid driver did fail but we fix it and all of the data was back and everything was ok.

    Next time put numbers on drive !!! So you don't need cluster rebuild
    IT is port to port dependent.. new motherbord same drive port ..
    IT Will boot as nothing happend .. if drive not crashed .
    And use Antistatic wristband .. unplug PSU monitor .All cabels ..
