Hope you enjoy the video! Games get announced throughout the year, so if anything for 2020 is missed I'll put it in this comment. Nebuchadnezzar was just announced! New Cities is a small indie thing, Voyagers is an obscure one, and The Settlers is in the Strategy list. Watch all the upcoming games lists in this handy playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYVqUDxY6COh7bkuJoBb1koNRX7mAX2yp I spend 60 hours making each one trying to make them the best they can be.

I played Settlers part one on an Amiga in dualscreen mode with a friend. We've never found a true replacement for it. A remake should have a round map, like a small planet. It should require castles to expand your borders. They've released many Settler parts, but none of them have the same feeling as Settlers I.

Would like to see japanese/euro SimCity. Much much narrower streets, curvy roads, roundabouts, and smaller homes. The steam game had mods but they didn't narrow the road nor other things that would make it authentic….plus buggy

Quite a few interesting titles there, I'll keep an eye on some, even though I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna play all of theme, there are just too many.
I'd like to see Zeus coming back. Not only from a gameplay standpoint, as it ditched some of the more annoying things from Pharaoh (altough I still love that game), but also its comedic approach to greek history, which I haven't seen since, but I also know that's not everybodys taste. There is also some things to fix, like the diplomacy being completly rigged agains the player and the miltiary being more base on random results than actual strategy or anything else.

"It might not satisfy you if you are looking for AAA experience". Considering how things are going lately, this is a positive thing. It means game's content won't be locked behind season passes and micro-transactions or require always online presence. As for the game I'd like to see back, well, it's already back OpenTTD which is an open source remake of Tycoon Transporter Deluxe. It's not really a "city building" game, but it's something like that since you can influence cities and organize them to your liking. It's an awesome game, free and very well polished since it's been in very active development for years now.

I would love a return of the ANNO historical titles, although I would particularily love one set in classical greece. The island city state base ANNO has would fit pretty well with how life and politics in the egean functioned. You could also add a bit of flavor by adding eastern type cities like we had in ANNO 1404.

Well. Having a couple thousand hours on Cities:Skylines, one might assume I like city builders.
And right, I do. What I don't like are the games in this list. Well, most of. I own Workers and Ressources since March, it's quite nice. Still need some work but it's quite nice. And also Industries of Titan. I will not get it via Epic, but I'll give it a shot once it's on steam.
The rest: idk. some cool ideas, true, but I just don't like the art.

Don't get me wrong. I really like it that devs trying some different approaches and (very) different game mechanics, and I am sure there's a bunch of gamers out there who enjoy those games. And that's a good thing!

As for the comeback: sure, Sim City. Reworked, with some ideas ripped from c:s, that would be amazing. Or C:S2.

I think this list was very well and a good representation for all the games there. I would never even have heard of 90% of these without this list. Of all those games "Before we leave" (no. 23) looked most appealing to me. It looks like a peaceful RT civilization game where exploration, building and improvement goes hand in hand. I will at least follow that one at steam. "Foundation" (no. 6) is one as well to look after.

On the other side there was a few games that looked very cool in the begining, but that also have a few flaws in them imo. "Aztec empire" (no. 1) looked like a perfect Ceasar 3 look-a-like, I am quite fond of Ceasar series, but that's mostly the nostalgia talking. I also liked the concept of "Dwarrows" (no. 9) though I have previously tried similar types of games before with no success (Folk Tale for instant). The detail quality in "smart city plan" (no 17) looked very cool, but it have the same feeling of allready playing it as it looks like the majority of similar games. I hope it can be unique.

All in all what I actually really want are a spiritual sucessor to Banished. In recent years, that have been my main city builder game and I have over 400 hours in it.

Hmm…Thanks for the video – useful stuff! Aztecs looks like Banished with a tropical skin. That may not be a bad thing, but Banished, great though it is (especially with mods), really needs more, well, everything (Colonial Charter is great, but they've had to shoehorn features into a game that wasn't designed to accommodate them). (I'd buy Banished 2 in a heartbeat.) The Firefly Roman one nearly had me sold as a co-op city builder. I thought that sounded cool (and I love Stronghold, at least the first one). It completely lost me at free to play. Aside from the one MOBA that I play, I have zero interest in F2P. I want a proper game that's free of the usual F2P bullshit. Ancient Cities, if they can pull it off, looks to be exactly the sort of game I'd want to play! Some of the mechanics in Foundation look cool – love the idea of modular building. Distant Kingdoms also has some interesting-sounding mechanics as I like the idea of having to accommodate different species. The Dream Engines' aesthetics is completely to my taste – anything steampunky is great (LOVE Frostpunk), but I'm not really into the combat aspect. I've got other games for the RTS stuff. Soviet Republic sounds interesting – I kinda like it. If Surviving the Aftermath is free of crap DLC (I didn't buy Surviving Mars specifically for this reason) then that's a possibility. Looking forward to seeing what Seed is like.

I'd love just a CITIES: Fantasy or CITIES: Medieval game.
Simple as that. Imagine trying to make an old school aesthetic city based on London. Horse & Cart, Slaves, Nobility, harbour districts, mines. Add in fantasy with races, steampunk blimps trains, mage towers schools.
    Could be great fun.
